Prophet to eMail Pipeline                                                        Updated February 2002

Powerful software allowing full inbound and outbound email connections to Prophet. Orders in, dispatch notes out. All sorts of documents are possible. Now upgraded to have outbox tree view, similar to Outlook.  Now also XML capable.

Squirt is designed to connect Prophet to the internet via email. Squirt takes information from Prophet and sends it out by email, or receives information in via email.  Squirt is a stand-alone program, with ODBC and Batch File/Ghost Script links to Prophet.

Squirt formats:

Squirt watches Order Entry, and on a timer, emails all invoices to a managed warehouse for dispatch. eMail attachment is in the warehouse's custom file interchange format, allowing the warehouse to import the invoice and update their dispatch and stock systems. Second attachment is Prophet customised invoice, printing at the warehouse to custom stationery, and going with the goods to the customer.

When freight details are complete on your invoices, Squirt can send a copy of the invoice to your customer, to let them know what is on the way, and what the details are.

Send copies of invoices to the customer email address, or a specified email address. Good when customers request invoice copies when doing debtor collections, or when the customer would like to be advised on dispatch of each order. Customers can request their own copies of invoices, by send an email to squirt@yourcompany.co.nz

Set Squirt to email out weekly or monthly debtor statements to those who wish to receive them. Squirt will on queue work it's way through your debtor list, without intervention, emailing each debtor their statement.

Squirt can send copies of Purchase Orders, either as they are entered, or on demand, to the supplier.

Have Squirt email a predefined or standard Prophet report, with selections, to a range of email address. Back order reports, stock on hand reports.

Squirt can monitor an email box, take attachments from emails, convert formats, and import the orders into Prophet.

Use Squirt to email stock details to a regular page of your web site.

Setup Instructions

1. Install the AAAAAA01  RG Report in your Prophet (funny name because has to be top of list)
       The one included is serialised 894, you need to get your own security code or have a live RG
       The RG is also available here as Serial Demo 0, 5kb ZIP, make sure you import, not copy.
2. Run setup from the zip download.
3. Install Prophet ODBC driver, setup a System DSN called ProphetNetwork and point it at your Prophet
        Check BDE has got your DSN registered correctly.
4. Edit printwoi.bat and printstd.bat, and change the paths to suit your Prophet system.
5. Edit woi.gho and std.gho, and change the passwords and menu options to suit your Prophet system
6. Start Squirt, select file/options or the toolbar button, and set the options on each page.
        For the outbound format, select WOI Custom format, save, exit, go back to options, select settings.
        Tick the WOI and Std (the letter one is not working yet)
        WOI is  a custom format for a particular warehouse, Monarch Fulfilment Centre in Penrose.
7. Exit and restart squirt, and watch it broadcast your invoices!!!

A little bit complicated, but hey, this is a low volume product, and has a complex connection to Prophet!

Squirt connects directly to your mail server, either locally or at your ISP. It works from its own mailbox. It can receive and send email. It looks for keywords, and processes inbound attachments, validating them, modifying or converting them if necessary, then importing them directly into Prophet. Outbound emails run by timers or trigger events. Squirt is fully customisable, to suit your requirements. Squirt runs as an unattended windows application on any computer on your network. It creates full and detailed logging of all activities. Squirt can process credit card transactions online in real time, with immediate confirmation. Squirt is fully aware of Prophet, and can access all aspects of Prophet inbound or outbound. Security is customisable to the level you feel comfortable with. Squirt can talk advanced and new protocols, such as XML, HTML 4 and SOAP, and older ones, like plain text files. Squirt works with the DOS based versions of Prophet, and does not interact directly with Prophet for Windows.

Squirt requires a computer on your LAN, and access to a POP3 & SMTP email server. Queries via Prophet’s ODBC driver can be slow on older computers & large data sets.
